Tucson- As the investigation continues into the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, there is more information that is being uncovered tying the alleged killer to radical Islam. In Tucson there are members of the Muslim community who are condemning the violence and speaking out.

Umer Shahid, with Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, said what the killers have done has nothing to do with his faith.

"The terrorists are not Muslim this is a very clear thing, they are using the name of Islam" said Shahid, "The true teachings of Islam basically teaches you, of mankind, humanity, love, peace, not the killing of people, not the terrorism."

Shahid said the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community condemns what happened in Orlando and has continued to reach out to other Muslim communities since launching their campaign "True Islam and the extremist", after the shootings in San Bernardino.

"We are trying to bring all the Muslim communities together", Shahid said, "To come and join us and stand united against extremism.

While Umer Shahid believes some Muslims may be afraid to stand up, he said has no such fear.

"My teachings tell me these are not the right things, not the true things, so I stand up to this", said Shahid, "This is definitely not Islam, the terrorists have no religion.

It is the month of Ramadan. Leaders of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are encouraging members to break their fast and instead donate blood. The mosque in Tucson held it's own vigil on Sunday.
